Four New Technologies Available

We are excited to announce the expanded technology offerings available through KNMFi:

Thermal Scanning Probe Lithography (t-SPL) for nanoscale material structuring using heated AFM probes.
Correlative MRI/NMR and X-ray measurement (CORREL), integrating X-ray imaging (XRI), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy into a single platform.
Lithography-based Ceramic Manufacturing (LCM), a method for rapid prototyping with ceramic materials.
Automated Synthesis (ChemASAP) to support projects requiring chemical entities such as organic or inorganic molecules.

We encourage users to take advantage of these new technologies. Please contact the respective technology experts before submitting your proposal to understand the possibilities and accurately formulate your requirements.

Deadline for submission of proposals in the current KNMF call is June 15, 23:59:59 CEST (UTC +2:00).
- Don't forget to submit your proposal(s)! (Status = "Submitted" in "Your proposals")
- Co-proposers have to accept their participation before deadline!

Note: the call deadlines do not apply to proposals from users of Helmholtz Centers. Helmholtz proposals can be submitted at any time and will be continuously reviewed.

Proposals from Helmholtz Users

January 17, 2022

As of now, Helmholtz users can submit a new type of proposal: ha-proposals (ha = Helmholtz Association). Applications should be relevant to the Helmholtz Research Field Information and will be reviewed by a Helmholtz panel. Evaluation criteria are the state of the art, the project goal and the work plan of the submitted applications. Note that KIT applicants are also considered Helmholtz users.

NFFA Europe Research Infrastructure

Most of the KNMFi technologies are also available for transnational access in NFFA-EUROPE. NFFA-Europe offers to European and Third Country scientists from both academia and industry the possibility to carry out comprehensive projects for multidisciplinary research at the nanoscale.

The access route via NFFA-Europe is optional, depending on your preferences. If you are a user from countries other than Germany and KNMFi is your preferred access partner for one or more of the technologies you select, please indicate that KIT is your preferred location on the application form. As usual, before submitting a proposal please discuss your ideas before with our KNMFi scientists.
